U-Pull-It in Omaha is a self-service auto salvage yard where customers find used car parts at lower prices than dealerships. You pull the part yourself and buy the whole car, not just the part. The yard is open to the public daily, but inventory changes often—what’s listed online might not be there when you visit.
The yard also buys junk or damaged cars, though reviews mention inconsistent communication and staff attitudes in that process. Located at 1405 Grace Street, it’s a common spot for DIY mechanics, car owners needing repairs, and those looking to salvage parts.
Services & What to Expect
U-Pull-It Omaha is a self-service salvage yard. You search for, remove, and pay for parts yourself. The yard has a mix of domestic and foreign vehicles, from older models to newer ones. Common parts include engines, transmissions, body panels, and interior components, but what’s available depends on current stock.
How Self-Service Works
Search for parts: Use the online inventory tool to check for parts before visiting. Online listings don’t always match what’s actually in the yard.
Locate the vehicle: Once there, find the car with your part using yard signs or ask staff for help.
Remove the part: Bring your own tools—U-Pull-It doesn’t provide them. Some parts need welding or special equipment, so plan ahead.
Pay for the part: You pay a flat fee for the whole car, not per part. The price is on the windshield or in the office.
Exit the yard: Staff will check your purchase and give you a receipt. Keep it for proof of payment.
What to Bring
Tools (wrenches, sockets, pry bars)
Gloves and safety gear (parts can be sharp or dirty)
A way to haul parts (truck, trailer, or large vehicle works best)
Cash or a card (the office takes both, but check payment methods first)
Your ID (some yards ask for it)

I went there looking for a specific set of rims, and they actually had them—which was a win. The problem came when I tried to pull one off the car it was sitting on. The thing had sunk into the dirt, and no matter how hard I yanked, it wouldn’t budge. I asked the guys working there for help, but they just shrugged and said they couldn’t do anything. So I wandered around, found a jack in some other wrecked car, and managed to get it loose myself. Still, the price was fair, and they had what I needed. Next time I’ll bring a buddy and some tools, but yeah, I’d go back if I had to.

It's a vehicle junk yard. They keep them spaced out and lined up. Staff in office is friendly. It's a mechanics world. Don't come out here expecting folks to do it for you. 😂

the guy who works in the buying vehicles part is rude. you call and he does not say hello, does not verify who he works for, nothing. he sits on the other end of the phone and breathes until you say something. i asked for a time quote and he said shortly and i called back 5 hours later and he said he’d have the tech reach out to us. terrible terrible service. ended up selling my car to someone else because of this, they even gave me more money. if selling a junk car, call rivers edge towing in council bluffs.

In the area where they buy vehicles, the young man who works there is unpleasant and provides terrible service. He's always angry and yells at customers. Be careful with him when you go there 😡

04/04/22 same thing at this one they pull rows out for over a week and have half empty inventory, yet they raise the entrance fee? Owner emailed me says they update inventory online daily which is also not true. I have asked for my money back several time since the car their inventory said was there under 30 day was not there anymore. They always tell you the same "we see what you see online, and we aren't the ones who do the online inventory, a third party company does." Sometimes there are vehicles online that are no no long out in the yard, and vehicles out that aren't even listed online. Those picks are how it is out there daily for the past 3-4 weeks
