United Auto Parts is a self-service auto salvage yard in Phoenix, Arizona, at 2328 W Broadway Rd. They sell used auto parts, take scrap metal for recycling, and let customers find their own parts. The yard carries parts for domestic and foreign cars, including performance pieces and body kits. They also buy scrap metal to keep it out of landfills.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Saturday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; and Sunday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Services & What to Expect

United Auto Parts is a self-service yard, meaning you search for parts yourself. They stock used auto parts like engines, transmissions, body panels, and interior pieces. Since parts come from salvaged cars, you’ll often find good deals on repairs or custom builds.

How Self-Service Salvage Works

Start at the front office to check in. Staff will give you tools (like a breaker bar) and show you around. You’ll then find and remove parts on your own. A scale is on-site for weighing scrap metal, and pricing is by weight. The yard doesn’t remove parts for you—you handle that yourself.

What to Bring

  • Vehicle info (if matching parts to a specific car)
  • Your own tools (if you don’t want to use theirs)
  • Gloves and safety gear (helpful for handling metal or sharp parts)
  • Cash or a payment method (some yards need cash upfront for scrap)

Scrap Metal Recycling

The yard buys scrap metal from cars and other sources. Pricing depends on weight, and they have scales on-site. Common metals they take include steel, aluminum, copper, and brass. Separate metals by type for the best price.

Parts Available

Inventory changes as new cars come in, but you’ll usually find:

  • Engines and transmissions
  • Body panels (doors, hoods, fenders)
  • Interior parts (seats, dashboards)
  • Suspension and drivetrain pieces
  • Electrical components (wiring, sensors)
They focus on domestic and late-model foreign cars, not rare or classic parts.

Found exactly what I was looking for—well, almost. Needed a driver door for my car, and they had one that matched except for the color (mine’s dark gray pearl, theirs was black). Still worked fine, and the price wasn’t bad either. The guys there were actually useful, which is more than I can say for most places like this. ---

Wasted my time here. They didn’t have a single part I needed. Not even close. Should’ve just skipped this stop. ---

Been coming here for a year now, and I keep going back because the prices are always fair. The two guys up front? They actually help you instead of just pointing you toward a pile of junk. If I need a used part, this is the first place I call. ---

Do not—*do not*—go here. Bought a part, asked them to check it first, and they sold it to me broken. Then they tried to replace it with another busted one. The whole place is a mess—dogs in the yard with no food or water, just lying there in the heat. I reported them to Arizona State, the Business Department, and animal control. Save yourself the headache and go anywhere else.

Isaac got my Escalade off my hands fast, which I wasn’t thrilled about—but I’d gotten my money’s worth out of it. If you’re looking for parts for a ’02 to ’06 AWD 6.0, the engine and everything else is in solid shape. He’ll give you a fair deal, no question. ---
