Walked in for the first time and was actually impressed—place was neat, not the usual junkyard mess. George was the guy who helped me, and he made the whole thing smooth. Got me set up fast, loaded my cans, weighed them, handed me a receipt, then sent me inside for my cash. The woman in the office was just as nice, no hassle at all. Whole thing took maybe 10 minutes, start to finish. No waiting, no confusion. Definitely a spot I’ll keep coming back to. ---

Pulled up with half a truckload of scrap, thinking it’d be a quick stop. Ended up wasting an hour and a half because the guy running the yard had no idea what he was doing. First, he demanded all the aluminum out first—except it was buried under everything else. Then he started yanking stuff out of my truck, scratching the paint, even after I told him three times to grab a bin instead. Finally got a bin, but he still managed to smash it into my driver’s side door. Then came the aluminum—told me they’d lump it in with sheet metal because “it bends,” which is total nonsense. Extruded aluminum pays more, and they were just throwing money away by not sorting it right. The whole time, they kept separating copper and aluminum into different piles, then just dumping it all back together. The scale guy? Clueless. Kept not weighing the wire properly, and the receipt they gave me was so tiny I couldn’t even read it. Oh, and they tried to lowball me on white brass and electric motors—same crap I dealt with here a decade ago. Took the same stuff to Boise United and got nearly $200 more. Never stepping foot in this place again. ---

Been going to United Metals in Twin Falls for years, and they’ve never given me a reason to complain. Prices are fair, and they don’t play games. That’s all I ask for. ---

Dropped off some scrap metal and copper tubing, and the receipt they printed was so small I had to squint to make out the numbers. Worse, they shorted me on the #1 copper—had to go back inside and argue about it. The manager acted like it was no big deal, like ripping people off is just part of the job. Not worth the hassle. I’ll take my business elsewhere next time. ---

These guys are the real deal—always ready to help, know their stuff inside and out. Smoky especially, he’s the best. Honest, fair, and actually cares. Went to Pacific once, and let’s just say it was a joke compared to this place. I stop by United at least once a week, and they’re always in a good mood, always make it easy. No reason to go anywhere else when you’ve got people who treat you right.
