Overview

Wallington Auto Wrecker - Wallington, NJ

Wallington Auto Wrecker is a self-service auto salvage yard in Wallington, New Jersey. Customers can browse and remove parts from wrecked vehicles themselves. This hands-on approach keeps costs low, especially for older or less common car models. The yard is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. It closes Sundays.

Services & What to Expect

Wallington Auto Wrecker is a self-service salvage yard. Customers find and remove their own parts from wrecked cars, trucks, and SUVs. Common parts available include engines, transmissions, body panels, bumpers, lights, and interior components.

How Self-Service Works

To use the salvage yard, start at the office. Staff will give you tools like wrenches, sockets, and pry bars and explain the rules. Then, you locate the parts you need, remove them from the wrecked vehicles, and bring them to the office to pay. The yard doesn’t remove parts for you—customers do the work themselves.

What to Bring

  • A vehicle to haul parts (salvaged parts are often heavy and bulky)
  • Basic hand tools (if the yard doesn’t provide them)
  • Gloves and safety gear (salvage yards can be dirty and unsafe)
  • Cash or a payment method the yard accepts (check their website for details)
  • A list of the parts you need (include the make, model, and year of your vehicle)

I waited over a week for these people to pick up my car after I called them. They kept saying the boss would call me back, but that never happened. Total waste of time. Don’t bother with them—they’re clueless and don’t follow through. ---

Dude, this guy’s the real deal. Needed a sub-frame for my Ford Fusion Hybrid, and he not only had it in stock but got it to me the very next day. No runaround, no excuses—just straight-up help. If you’re looking for parts and want someone who actually gives a damn, go see him. ---

I drove all the way from Queens to Wallington Auto for a door and a quarter panel, and Marlin had everything ready when I got there. No waiting, no hassle—just good service. If you need parts and want someone who actually knows what they’re doing, this is the place.

Do NOT buy from these people. I bought a transmission with a warranty, paid via Zelle right away, and when it didn’t work, I tried to return it. The owner kept saying he’d pick it up but never showed. I ended up dropping it off myself, and when I asked for my money back, he acted annoyed. The check he gave me bounced. When I asked for Zelle instead, he said their account “doesn’t work.” Now I’m out $1,700, and they’ve got the transmission back. This is going to court. ---

Went in to buy an engine, and the owner swore it had 92,000 miles. Turns out, when I checked the VIN, it was actually at 162,000. That’s a huge difference. The price was fair for the real mileage, but lying about it upfront isn’t cool. At least he gave me a full refund when I backed out before the engine shipped. ---
