It’s a good option for DIY mechanics, repair shops, and anyone looking for affordable used auto parts.

Services & What to Expect

West Coast Auto Dismantling is a self-service salvage yard, meaning you find and remove parts yourself. The yard carries used auto parts like engines, transmissions, doors, fenders, headlights, and more. Parts are stored outdoors, so they’re exposed to the weather but often cost less than new or refurbished ones.

How Self-Service Works

  • Visit during business hours and search for parts on your own.
  • Bring your own tools—wrenches, sockets, and other equipment aren’t provided.
  • Parts are sold by the piece, with prices depending on the type and condition.
  • Pay at the office after you’ve picked out what you need.

What to Bring

  • Tools for removing parts, such as wrenches, sockets, and pry bars.
  • Gloves and safety gear—parts can be sharp or dirty.
  • A list of the parts you need, along with your vehicle’s make and model.
  • Cash or a card for payment (check if they take cards before you go).

Inventory & Availability

The yard keeps around 600 vehicles in open storage, with parts ranging from common to rare. Engines, transmissions, and body panels are usually in stock, but specialty parts may not be. Since it’s self-service, parts go fast—what you see is what you get.

Selling a Junk Car

West Coast Auto Dismantling focuses on parts, not car purchases. If you need to sell a junk car, check our cash for junk cars page for local buyers in Woodland and nearby areas.

What a nightmare. They made me jump through hoops just to get a warranty on a busted transmission they sold me. Then I had to pay an extra $220 so the dealership could basically repeat what I already told them. Total waste of time and money. ---

Saw a part listed online for $126, so I called to see if they had it in stock. Guy on the phone said yeah, they had it, but the price was now $200. I was like, "Wait, it’s $126 on your own website." He just hung up. No explanation, nothing. After that, I get why everyone says their customer service is garbage. ---

This place is a joke. They make returning or warrantying anything a total hassle. It takes them forever to even call you back about anything. I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but people need to know how shady this place is. They’ll nickel-and-dime you every chance they get. ---

I called nine different places looking for a transmission for my Honda, and this was the only one that had it. The price was fair, but the guy at the front desk didn’t know the mileage and said it was tested—turns out, it wasn’t. The whole exchange process was a little messy, but they fixed it. I brought it back, and Jacob was a huge help. He found me a rebuilt one, got it installed, and I was happy with the whole thing. Even the young lady who helped me was nice, and I got my core back. I’d send my friends here if they needed parts. ---

These guys have a massive selection of parts, and the staff is actually helpful and friendly. The prices are great, too. I needed a rare HVAC control head for a 1991 Camaro—most places don’t even carry parts that old. But they found it, pulled it, cleaned it up, and had it ready when I drove down from Sacramento. All for $80. I found them on eBay and was shocked they were so close. You don’t see this kind of service anymore, especially for such a small job. Glad I stumbled on them.
