Honestly, these guys saved my butt more times than I can count. Every time I’ve needed help sorting through scrap, they’ve gone way out of their way to make it happen. If I still had access to that old account, I’d delete that bad review—I was wrong. ---

Their "extended hours" are a joke. I’ve been there four times late in the day, and every single time, they’ve turned me away—30 minutes before closing, 18 minutes, 10 minutes, even five minutes. If they’re not actually working those extra hours, they should just adjust their posted times or hire people who’ll stick around until closing. It’s frustrating. ---

Let me tell you, this was a total mess. I called Jordan Williams at Westside Recycling on January 11, 2024, about getting a 30-yard dumpster delivered to a rural spot in Emporia, KS. It was snowing, so I asked if the roads were safe for delivery. Jordan said he’d just driven that route that morning and thought it was fine. The driver showed up, I asked him the same question, and he said yeah, it was safe. Next thing I know, the truck’s stuck in my yard. I tried digging it out, even put bricks behind the tires—nothing worked. Then Jordan shows up, and when I asked if there was anything I could do, he basically said, *"You should’ve helped before I got here."* Like, what? He’s the one who said the roads were fine! And then I got charged $225 for nothing—not even a dumpster, not even an apology. Lesson learned: don’t trust these guys. ---

Westside Recycling is seriously well-run. The staff are all super friendly and go above and beyond to help with questions or unloading your car. And the pay for recyclables? Top dollar. I’d recommend this place to anyone without hesitation.

Why didn’t I find this place sooner? They’re open way later than the other junkyards around here, and they’re open on Saturdays, which is a huge plus. The second you pull in, you know exactly where to go—big signs point you in the right direction. When we were ready to unload, an employee was already there waiting to help. The whole thing took maybe 10 minutes, start to finish, and everyone was friendly and made it easy. Yeah, their prices are a little higher than the competition, but honestly? It’s worth the extra $10. We’re definitely coming back here first next time. ---
