I showed up 35 minutes before closing, and yeah, I don’t live right down the street. There were four people ahead of me, and as the line moved, it got closer and closer to their cutoff time. One employee looked at me and said, *"We’re not taking you."* I had three pieces of iron in my truck—stuff I’d already hauled in there, not something I could just toss back in. They ended up letting me through, but they were *pissed* about it, yelling at me to hurry up and get out so they could go home. My roommate and I weren’t even there that long, but whatever. I got my money, said thanks, and got nothing back. Not even a grunt. The whole thing left me annoyed. Maybe they should just lock the gate if they’re gonna turn people away last-minute—or at least have someone at the door to tell you upfront if they’re not taking more scrap. ---
Went to this place once and *never* again. Walked up, guy at the counter asks for my ID—fine, I had it. Dumped my metal on the scale, ready to get paid, and the attendant behind the glass hits me with, *"Why should I pay you for your stolen scrap?"* Like, what the hell? I told him, *"Cool, I’ll just take it home then."* Then some other guy shows up and actually pays me. My scrap wasn’t stolen, but that first guy’s attitude was garbage. Don’t waste your time here—go somewhere else. ---
It’s your standard scrap yard: back your car up, wait for them to clear you to unload, and boom—done. Most of the guys working there are decent, actually pretty friendly. I think one or two of them have some kind of disability, but they handle their jobs just fine. There’s usually that one grumpy dude who looks like he’s never cracked a smile in his life, but hey, that’s kind of the vibe in this business. And the prices? Fair enough. ---
Prices are solid, the staff’s actually helpful, and they move fast. No waiting around forever or dealing with attitude—just get in, get it done, and get out. That’s how it should be.
