Randy and Lupe in the garage always handle my scrap right—brass, copper, aluminum, whatever I bring in. They never mess up the weights, and they’re good people, no nonsense. The scale checks out for iron too, and Jerri up front? Solid. She caught some guy trying to scam me with my license plate while I was weighing my load—just called him out on the spot. No hesitation. Place runs smooth, crew’s legit. ---
This junkyard is a total scam. Twice now they’ve lied about the weight of my clean aluminum—400 pounds, and they paid me $114 at 55 cents a pound? That math doesn’t add up, and I’ve got the proof from my own scale. When I confronted them, management told me to take the lowball offer or walk away empty-handed. Unbelievable. I’m reporting them to the BBB and whoever else will listen. They’re gonna regret messing with me. Don’t waste your time here—they’ll lowball you and laugh while doing it. ---
American Iron will take your metal, mix it with theirs, then hit you with some excuse about an expired ID. Suddenly, your money’s “on hold” until you renew it—but good luck getting your metal back. They’ve got you trapped. I had to fight just to get paid, and the front desk staff acted like I was bothering them. Skip this place. The yard up the street pays better, treats you right, and won’t leave you stranded. ---
Prices for aluminum and copper are fair, and they’ll take just about anything else you’ve got—brass, scrap, you name it. Just make sure refrigerators and freezers are drained first. They pay in cash right there, no waiting around. ---
The woman in the little white house by the scale? First time, she made my guys freeze outside while I weighed in, then told them they couldn’t even come with me. Second trip, she was fine—go figure. Still, not the friendliest setup.
