Johnny and the rest of the crew are solid—friendly, know their stuff—but the prices? Could use a little work. Not terrible, just not the best deal out there. ---
Don’t bother with this place. I called ahead, got a copper price over the phone, then showed up two hours later to be told they’d changed their mind. Had to beg just to get the rate they’d already promised. Who does that? If you’re stuck going here, at least do this: lock in a price before you unload, separate your metals (copper, brass, aluminum), and make sure the scale’s zeroed before they weigh your load. Otherwise, they’ll nickel-and-dime you on every little thing. For comparison, Potomac Metals in Beltsville was paying 15% more for the same copper just last month. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere that won’t screw you over. ---
Been coming here for five years now. The staff’s usually decent—helpful, no-nonsense. The lot’s fine for what it is, though it gets busy. Management’s a mixed bag—you’ll figure out who’s the "good cop" and who’s the "bad cop" pretty quick. Location’s perfect for me, prices are fair, but man, I wish they’d start taking electronics and weird recyclables too. ---
East Coast Metals—Jeremy (RSC) and the guys? Best prices in the area, hands down. Their scales are accurate, they move fast, and I’ve checked every other scrap yard in the DMV. None even come close. If you’re hauling copper, brass, stainless, or wire, skip the rest and go here. Your wallet will thank you.
Went here because someone swore they paid top dollar for copper, aluminum, stainless, brass—turns out, that was a lie. Their rates? Below average, even compared to other yards in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Lost a third of what I could’ve made elsewhere. Won’t make that mistake again. ---
