Don’t even think about going here. I bought an engine, drove two hours to install it, and all I got was knocking from the bottom. Took it right back out, drove all the way back because the head gaskets were trash. Jay’s a scammer, plain and simple. Won’t step foot near the place again, and you shouldn’t either if you value your time and money.

Service was solid, prices were good, and it felt like a real neighborhood spot with super friendly people. Even had a sweet little cat wandering around to keep things cheerful.

Ordered what they listed as an A-grade used fender. It showed up with five deep scratches, two big dents, and a bent bracket. Called Jay’s Auto Recycling to complain, but the guy on the phone got nasty and said his “A grade” doesn’t always match mine. Said returning a misrepresented part would cost me a 20% restocking fee. Attached are pictures of the damage.

The woman I talked to swore they had the part I needed, so I drove over an hour only to be told she mixed up the info and didn’t have it after all. Not worth the trip.

Terrible service, and when they don’t know their own prices, they just pick the highest one they can find. No empathy, no effort—just a bad experience all around. ---

Went in for a headlight plug, and they tried to charge me $75. I walked out, went to the GM dealer, and got the same part for $11. Absolute scam. Don’t bother with these people—they’ll overcharge you every time. ---

Dude, Jay is the worst. The second I got on the phone, he started talking down to me like I was wasting his time. I was just pointing out that the door had more damage than he’d listed, and he acted like I was being difficult. He finally gave me a $50 refund, but not before telling me to “go buy some Kleenex” with it. Unbelievable. There are plenty of other junkyards out there—no need to deal with this guy. ---

I called about a bumper cover, and I’m an hour away—no pictures, no idea what shape it’s in. They won’t even send someone to check it out unless I give them my credit card first. That’s not happening. How am I supposed to know if I want the part if I don’t know what it looks like? If it’s busted, I’m not handing over my card for nothing. But if it’s in good shape, I’d happily put down a deposit. Instead, they lost a sale over something that would’ve taken five minutes to sort out. ---

Ordered a transmission on Tuesday, called back Wednesday to pay the deposit, and was told it’d be ready by Thursday morning at the latest. I rescheduled my whole week to pick it up, but Thursday came and went—no transmission. Jay (the owner, I think) kept saying it’d be ready, so I kept pushing back my other jobs. Friday morning? Still nothing. The woman on the phone—Donna, maybe?—was short with me from the second I called. When I asked to talk to Jay, they said no. Then they tried to cancel the whole order. A week of back-and-forth, and they still couldn’t get it right. No communication, no respect, and clearly no care about their customers. No wonder everyone else is leaving one-star reviews.
