I’d give zero stars if I could. Never setting foot in this place again. My car’s engine died, so I called around, bought a used motor with a 3-year warranty, and made *sure* the shop had all the paperwork to keep it valid. Did oil changes, kept up with maintenance—everything by the book. A year and three months later? Engine’s dead *again.* I filed a claim, had the warranty department talk to the shop to avoid any mix-ups. But here’s the kicker: the shop *couldn’t even get a response* from warranty when they had questions. So I called Mr. Mann myself and flat-out asked, *“Do you have all the photos and receipts you need?”* He said yes. Then he asked if I wanted a new engine or a refund. I picked the engine. A week goes by. Then another. I call back, ask how long it usually takes. He says 7–10 business days. *“From today?”* I ask. *“Yeah,”* he says. So I wait. Call back a week later. Now he’s telling me the engine’s “hard to find”—none of their 205 warehouses have one. Then he hits me with: *“Oh, by the way, your claim wasn’t finalized. We need more pictures.”* Wait—what? He *never* mentioned that before. Every other call, he acted like I was getting a new engine or a refund. Why lie about the warehouses? Why not just say upfront they needed more photos? And why couldn’t the shop get a straight answer from them? They sent pictures, heard nothing. I’m a single mom working two jobs, barely keeping my head above water, and this company’s treating me like I’m the problem. I just wanted what I paid for. If anyone’s reading this who can actually help, *please*—I deserve that refund. ---

Ugh, I’m *so* done with this whole mess, and I still don’t get why it’s been this much of a nightmare. Today’s October 7, 2025, and I first reached out to this place on August 18, 2025, to buy a used transmission for my Avalon. The *first* one showed up at my repair shop on September 4—only to find out it was the wrong part entirely. I called that same day, talked to some guy named Daniel in claims, and he told me to send pictures. I did. Then I waited. Turns out the transmission they sent *was* for an Avalon, just not the right engine size—and it was just mislabeled in their system. Not my problem. The next day, they said they’d process a refund. But I *didn’t want* a refund—I just wanted the part I paid for. Then I got a bill of lading on September 10, bought new straps to secure the wrong transmission to the rickety pallet it came on, and got escalated to some "Business Manager" named Clifton. He apologized, promised "preferential treatment," and said it’d be expedited. The wrong transmission got picked up on September 11. By September 19, I’m still hearing nothing, so I call again. They tell me the *new* transmission just arrived on the 18th, they’re inspecting it, and my refund’s coming. *Again*, I say I don’t want a refund—I want the *correct* part. Then, on September 25, I get an email (no call, just an email) saying the replacement failed inspection and they’re sending *another* one. October 2, another email: part’s ready to ship. *Fast forward to today, October 7.* The shop cuts open the packaging, and—you guessed it—the connector’s broken, a pipe’s bent, and the torque converter’s sticking out like it’s been through a war. I’m on hold for 17 minutes *right now* while I write this, and I just want the part I ordered, in one piece, like a normal person would expect. Two months. Two *months* of this back-and-forth, and they had my money the second I paid. Reference number **4539068**—if anyone from this company actually reads this, *please* fix it. I’m out of patience. ---

This is the worst place to buy a U.S. engine. They scammed me—charged me **$2,250** for a “repaired” engine, said all I had to do was bolt on the accessories, and the next day? Sent me a rotten one. I sent it back, told them it was useless, and they had the nerve to say *nothing* was wrong. Then they “refunded” me—*after* making me pay **$900** to ship the broken engine back to them. Took them a *month* just to give me my money, and even then? Only **$1,500** back. So I’m out **$2,250 + $900**, and they gave me **$1,500** like that’s fair. Don’t buy from these people. They’re shady, they take advantage of hardworking folks who can’t afford to lose money on a car repair, and I don’t know how places like this are even allowed to operate. If you’re reading this, *don’t* let them trick you like they did me. ---

We waited *weeks* for an engine Angelo swore was run-tested—supposedly to keep my 3-year warranty intact. When it finally showed up, it came on a falling-apart pallet with busted straps, a cracked oil pan, a damaged timing cover, and so much rust it looked like it’d been sitting in a swamp. He’d sourced it from Illinois and drop-shipped it straight to us, but the second we saw the condition, we refused it. Here’s the kicker: I’d already paid **$4,500 upfront.** Because of their “return policy,” they kept 25%—so my refund was only **$2,950** for a part that *never even worked.* This place doesn’t make money selling good parts. They make it off the fine print, selling junk and hiding behind clauses so they don’t have to give refunds. ---

Back in September 2022, I bought an engine for one of my tow trucks from AM, and it’s still running like a champ today—no issues. Just ordered another one for a different vehicle, and even after reading some of these reviews, I’m still hopeful it’ll be just as solid. I’ll update once it’s in and running. Fingers crossed!
