The guys were quick to help, got me checked in fast, and I had my payment in hand before I even stepped out the other door

I brought in a window AC unit I'd been stripping for parts, and none of the three guys there gave me grief about it. The guy at the scale kept saying it wasn't a window unit even though it had a window mount bracket and had been sitting in a window for decades. He called someone over the radio, and the guy who came down told him straight up that it was definitely a window unit. This scale guy wouldn't back down though—tried to tell me, “Well now you know for next time.” Save yourself the hassle and go to Metal X, they never even blinked at what I brought in

Had to drop off an engine block the other day—thing was missing half its studs and bolts, so I ended up tossing the whole undercarriage in there. It’s a mix of steel and aluminum, and honestly, I should’ve just separated it first. The aluminum scrap pays way better, so next time I’ll clean it up before bringing it in. Worth the extra 10 minutes. ---

Look, I get it—scrap yards aren’t exactly known for honesty, but these guys stretch it a little too far with their pricing. And don’t get me started on the help. You’ll stand there waiting forever before someone actually bothers to assist you. The location’s convenient, at least, and you can get in and out quick if you don’t need much. But if this were my full-time gig? I’d drive 20 extra minutes to somewhere that doesn’t treat customers like an afterthought. ---

I’ve been selling scrap here since back when Omni was still Superior, and let me tell you, this place has gone downhill fast. Used to be a solid spot with good people, but now? Forget it. Last time I showed up with a couple bags of cans—washed and crushed, mind you—the guy acted like I’d just dumped a landfill in his yard. Got all worked up, told me to take it outside and dump it myself next time. Never had that problem before. And now they don’t even post the scrap prices? If it weren’t right downtown, I’d switch to Metal X in a heartbeat. At least they don’t treat you like you’re wasting their time.
