Overview

Orozco Auto Parts – Phoenix, AZ

Orozco Auto Parts is a junkyard in Phoenix where customers remove their own used car parts for repairs or rebuilds. The yard specializes in engines and transmissions but also stocks body panels, interior parts, and electrical components. It operates as a u-pull-it yard, so buyers handle the search and removal with minimal staff help.

Services and What to Expect

You drive in, find the part you need, remove it, then pay at checkout. Staff can help identify parts but won’t assist with removal. Basic tools are provided, though many bring their own. The business takes cash, credit, and debit.

What customers say about the process

Visitors report the lot is more organized than most junkyards, making parts easier to locate. Some mention helpful staff who guide customers to parts, while others complain about parts not matching the inventory list. One reviewer noted the staff stayed patient despite last-minute schedule changes.

Common issues to watch for

Several reviews mention parts listed as available but not in stock. One customer received a non-working engine that led to thousands in extra repairs. These problems suggest calling ahead to confirm availability and inspecting parts before you remove them.

Found a starter for my car here that cost half what the dealer wanted, and it fired right up.

My girlfriend totaled her car, so I called them for a quote to sell it. They came back with a fair price, picked it up on time, and followed up the whole way. The staff was real friendly too. I’d send anyone their way.

Honestly, I was a mess when I lost my car key and had to reschedule—kept changing the time last minute. But these guys didn’t make me feel bad about it once. They just rolled with it, stayed calm, and got me taken care of when I finally showed up. Not every place would’ve been that easygoing, but they handled it like it was no big deal. And the whole experience? Smooth. No attitude, no rush, just good service. ---

Look, if you’re hunting for parts that won’t break the bank, Arcel’s your spot. Dude behind the counter—can’t remember his name—always goes out of his way to help, even when I’m not sure what I’m looking for. And the prices? Way better than the big-box stores. I’ve sent a few people there now, and they all come back saying the same thing: “Why didn’t I find this place sooner?” ---

So I drove 15 minutes to this place because they *swore* they had a hood I needed. Got there, and—surprise—it was “sold.” No heads-up, no call, nothing. Just me wasting gas and time because their “inventory” is apparently more like a guess. They’ll tell you up front it’s not guaranteed, but come on. If you’re gonna make someone haul ass over there, at least have the part. Wouldn’t bother again. ---

Bought a “like-new” engine from Orozco—supposedly 92K miles, top-tier condition. $780 down the drain, plus another $3K to install the thing. Turns out? Complete junk. Wouldn’t even turn over. Took it to a real shop, and they confirmed it: engine was shot. Tried to get Orozco to own it? Nope. Just brushed me off like I was the problem. Even had video proof of the thing being installed, and they still wouldn’t budge. If you value your money, skip this place. Not worth the risk. ---

Most junkyards are just piles of scrap with no rhyme or reason, but this one? Actually organized. I found what I needed fast, no digging through mountains of rust. And the people working there? Didn’t waste my time with excuses or runaround. Just straightforward, no-BS help. If you’re tired of places that make you play hide-and-seek for parts, this is the spot.
