The yard is built for DIYers and mechanics looking for affordable parts for repairs or restorations.

Services & What to Expect

This is a self-service yard, so customers handle finding, removing, and paying for parts on their own. You’ll find parts from older and newer vehicles, including engines, transmissions, body panels, and interior components.

Before you go, bring:

  • A valid driver’s license or government ID
  • Cash, credit, or debit card (some locations take cards, but cash is often preferred)
  • Your own tools if you need them (the yard has basics, but you may want more)
  • A list of the parts you need, including the vehicle’s make, model, and year
  • A way to haul parts home (some are heavy or bulky)

The yard doesn’t sell whole cars, but if you have a junk vehicle to get rid of, you can sell it for cash through other services. Pick Your Part focuses only on parts.

What Parts Are Available?

The inventory changes often as new wrecks come in, but you’ll typically find:

  • Engines and transmissions
  • Body panels (doors, hoods, fenders, bumpers)
  • Interior parts (seats, dashboards, trim)
  • Suspension and brakes (shocks, struts, brake calipers)
  • Electrical components (alternators, starters, wiring)
  • Exhaust systems and mufflers
  • Wheels, tires, and hubs

Since you’re on your own, check parts carefully before buying. The yard doesn’t offer warranties, so you take the risk.

If you’re hunting for car parts, this is a solid spot to check out. A quick look at their website before you go saves time—what you want might not even be there anymore if the car’s been sitting too long. Overall, it’s a great place to start before you hit up other junkyards. Big thanks to Juan, by the way. He always gives straight-up advice and knows his stuff.

Just got back from PickA-Part and it was a smooth experience. The staff was on point—real helpful and easy to talk to—and I found the exact part I needed without any hassle. Prices were fair, too. I’ll definitely be back if I need anything else. Five stars, no question.

My husband and I used to come here all the time, but we won’t be back. Customer service was ridiculous the other day. Ordered a regular sunroof glass for our 2008 Pontiac Torrent/Chevrolet Equinox, and they charged us for a panoramic sunroof—then argued about it when we called them out. The part’s listed for under $60, but they wanted over $160. Let me break it down: panoramic sunroof glass is noticeably bigger than a regular one, anyone can tell the difference. We could’ve grabbed the right part elsewhere for half the price, easy. And don’t even get me started on the $67 they’re trying to charge for a used battery—Walmart sells new ones for about the same thing. If you’re selling used parts, either train your staff properly or label everything with price tags. I ended up buying the part anyway just to get what I needed, but it was a hassle from start to finish.

I’m telling you, AIDA and JUAN at LKQ on Brookshire and Chesapeake are the real deal. They actually take pride in helping you find exactly what you need, and it shows. The whole crew’s got that good vibe—friendly but still super professional, always willing to go the extra mile. I’m not the only regular who swears by this place. Stop on by and see what an auto salvage yard should feel like.

Let me start by saying I’ve been to a lot of junkyards for car parts, and this one takes the cake for being the worst. I bought a bumper thinking I’d just return it if it didn’t work out—turns out, they make you pay extra *and* buy a warranty just to get a refund. Who does that? It’s like Walmart charging you 20% just to take something back. I’d already gone through the hassle of removing the part, so all they had to do was grab it and put it back. When I told the guy I wouldn’t be coming back, he hit me with, *“You wouldn’t have this problem if you knew how to read.”* Nowhere—*nowhere*—on their website, receipt, or even a sign in the yard says returns aren’t allowed. The warranty was supposed to cover parts failing, not act as a return fee. I didn’t need it for a bumper with the same part number as mine. No one mentioned I’d have to buy one just to return it. The whole thing was just rude and pointless. My team spends thousands on parts every month, so losing $75 wasn’t the end of the world—but it was enough to know I’ll never shop here again. ---

Wasted $40 on a 25-year-old bezel plus entry fees, and for what? A $12 warranty on something that’s basically junk? Should’ve just bought it used online. Then they hit me with an extra $15 for a “lighter assembly” that didn’t even work—I couldn’t separate it from the bezel. At that point, I’d already spent an hour there, so I didn’t want to leave empty-handed. But the cars I needed parts from? Rust buckets, sun-fried, and falling apart. Skip this place—overpriced, shady, and not worth the hassle. *Terrible prices. You waste time looking at rusted-out cars. These people are way too expensive.* ---

This yard’s always been a little pricey compared to others around here, but at least it’s paved and has decent selection—until today, when they straight-up ripped me off. I paid for *three* axle shafts when I only bought *two*. The employees tried to tell me the passenger side one was “two pieces” and would come apart, but that’s nonsense. Sure, *some* axle shafts split into two, but this one? No way. I even showed them a Nissan service manual diagram proving it was one part, and they wouldn’t even look. Probably get paid commission. Next time, I’m hitting up U-Pull-It in Rock Hill or Pull-Apart on Tryon—better prices and way better service.

Selling my car was supposed to be easy—they sent someone to pick it up, but then I had to drive to their office, wait around, and deal with a confusing process just to get the title sorted. The whole thing was a mess. I stood outside their window for a few minutes before someone even noticed me, and when they finally opened it, they said they’d be back in a minute. Then some woman behind me asked if I was selling a car, and when I said no, I was just there for my check, she told me lunch wasn’t over yet. I had no idea where to park, and her directions were useless. Four other people showed up while I was waiting, and the woman at the window claimed they’d been there before me—even though they parked in the same spot I did. The whole experience was so frustrating, I’d rather just keep the broken cars in my driveway than deal with this again. ---

I drove all the way here just to find out the part I needed wasn’t even in stock—and I had to pay $3 just to walk around and check. There’s no way to call ahead to confirm if something’s available, so you’re stuck making the trip blind. And don’t bother asking for your $3 back if the part’s gone. They won’t refund it. Waste of time and money. ---
