A Bay Area Tradition Since 1974

Nestled in the heart of East Palo Alto, California, Infinity Auto Salvage has been serving the San Francisco Peninsula and Silicon Valley regions with quality used auto parts for over five decades. Located at 2091 Bay Rd, East Palo Alto, CA 94303, this full-service salvage yard offers an extensive inventory of both domestic and foreign vehicle parts, making it a go-to destination for budget-conscious car owners and DIY mechanics throughout the Bay Area.

Whether you’re looking for an engine, transmission, or body parts for your vehicle, Infinity Auto Salvage combines environmental responsibility with practical automotive solutions to keep your car running without breaking the bank.

Establishment and Ownership: A Legacy of Auto Recycling

Infinity Auto Salvage was established in 1974 when Sean Baker purchased the auto recycling facility. The business has thrived for over 50 years, specializing in recycling domestic and foreign vehicles, dismantling cars, and providing affordable used auto parts to customers throughout the San Mateo County area.

This long-standing salvage yard reflects the enduring demand for quality used auto parts in the region. While specific details about current ownership aren’t publicly available, the business’s five-decade presence in East Palo Alto demonstrates its stability and importance to the local automotive community.

The yard has also navigated significant challenges throughout its history. In 2002, East Palo Alto mandated the closure of auto wrecking yards, citing environmental concerns and redevelopment plans. However, in March 2003, the city council granted a reprieve, allowing existing dismantlers, including Infinity, to apply for special use permits on a year-to-year basis, enabling this valuable local resource to continue serving the community.

Infinity Auto Salvage stands out as a full-service junkyard specializing in automotive recycling and used parts sales. They’re committed to both environmental sustainability and providing affordable auto parts to the community.

Their recycling programs partner with three California state initiatives to help reduce emissions and support electric vehicle adoption. These programs particularly target vehicles that fail smog checks (1995 or newer) and older models (2005 or older).

For parts hunters, they maintain a diverse inventory of foreign and domestic car parts with helpful staff available to assist with installation and removal. Their “USED CARS & PARTS” offerings extend to complete vehicles as well, giving customers budget-friendly transportation options.

The yard’s buying service accepts vehicles for recycling through state programs, focusing on non-compliant or older models. They offer free towing and same-day pickup for qualifying vehicles, making disposal easy and environmentally responsible.

Unlike self-service junkyards where customers are on their own, Infinity provides full-service support with staff ready to help identify and handle parts. This approach makes them particularly valuable for those who need assistance or aren’t comfortable pulling parts themselves.

Looking for affordable used fuel pumps for your vehicle? Infinity Auto Salvage likely has what you need at a fraction of new part prices.

Vehicle Types: Domestic and Foreign Selection

Infinity Auto Salvage offers both early and late model foreign and domestic used cars according to their website. While specific makes and models aren’t detailed in available information, their inventory likely includes a variety of mainstream and luxury vehicles commonly found in Bay Area salvage yards.

The yard’s selection reflects the diverse automotive landscape of the Silicon Valley region, potentially including Japanese, European, and American vehicles. For customers seeking specific vehicles or parts, contacting the yard directly is recommended, as their real-time inventory details aren’t published online.

Given their participation in California’s vehicle recycling programs, they likely receive a steady stream of both older models (pre–2005) and newer vehicles that have failed emissions testing (1995 and newer), suggesting a diverse age range in their inventory.

Popular Auto Parts: What Customers Search For

The most commonly purchased used auto parts at junkyards like Infinity Auto Salvage typically include major mechanical and structural parts that are expensive to replace new but critical for vehicle functionality. Based on industry trends, these high-demand items include:

  1. Engines and Transmissions – Core powertrain parts sought for repairs, rebuilds, or performance upgrades due to their high replacement costs
  2. Body Panels and Bumpers – Frequently replaced after collisions as cost-effective options for restoring exterior appearance
  3. Suspension Parts – Shocks, struts, and control arms that directly impact ride quality and handling
  4. Interior Parts – Seats, dashboards, and trim pieces popular for restoration projects
  5. Electrical Components – Alternators, starters, and wiring harnesses for electrical system repairs
  6. Exhaust Systems – Manifolds, catalytic converters, and mufflers for performance tuning or emissions compliance
  7. Tires and Wheels – Used sets purchased for budget-friendly replacements
  8. Fuel System Parts – Pumps, injectors, and tanks to address drivability issues

These parts are prioritized by customers due to their high new costs, frequent failure rates, or importance in vehicle customization. If you’re looking for quality used suspension parts, Infinity Auto Salvage is a great place to start your search.

The yard maintains an inventory of early and late-model foreign and domestic vehicles, with staff described as “helpful and courteous.” While no online interchange tool is mentioned, their team likely leverages hands-on knowledge to guide customers in identifying compatible parts across different vehicles.

Entry Fee: No Information Available

Mike is the best! Retired a car through CAP BAR program and there was not wait – just walked in on a Saturday. He is very friendly and helpful. We were out of there in no time. Wrote a check on the spot. Took it to Pick n Pull in San Jose yesterday – they were awful. Rude, filthy place, not helpful at all. Take your car to Mike @ Infinity. You'll be glad you did!

Rated this company 1/5

I called in the morning to verify if this location accepts CAP vehicles because my friend is planning to retire a vehicle and he speaks moderate English and since I was a good friend, I was the translator. My friend started the call and when the customer service agent answered, he then passes the phone over to me. The customer service agent clearly stated, “Do you have a brain problem? Speak up.” This is truly unprofessional and clearly the agent needs to be more educated. This is my first experience with them and I highly do not recommend this place to anyone planning to retire their CAP vehicle in the Bay Area. If you are retiring a vehicle from the CAP Program, I recommend Push & Pull in the Bay Area. Much better customer service experience and no appointments needed.
