Common Questions

1. How do I sell my car to LKQ Pick Your Part?

To sell your car, visit their website or call 1–800–962–2277 for a free instant quote. The process involves three steps: entering vehicle details online, verifying information for pickup scheduling, and receiving payment upon inspection. They accept cars in any condition, including non-running or accident-damaged vehicles, and offer free towing services.

2. Will they buy my car if it’s damaged or in an accident?

Yes, LKQ Pick Your Part purchases vehicles regardless of damage or accident history. However, deductions may apply based on the extent and nature of the damage. For example, severe structural damage might reduce the offer, but they still prioritize recycling usable parts.

3. What parts are available at the Ontario location?

The Ontario yard stocks thousands of used parts from popular manufacturers like Chevy, Dodge, Ford, Nissan, Honda, and Toyota, including engines, transmissions, body panels, and accessories. Parts are primarily OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and organized by vehicle make for easy access. Customers use an auto parts interchange system to find compatible parts if the exact model isn’t available.

4. What is the return policy for purchased parts?

LKQ offers an optional 90-Day Worry-Free Guarantee, allowing returns within 90 days for refunds or exchanges if parts are incorrect, ill-fitting, or non-functional. This guarantee must be explicitly purchased at checkout and requires the original receipt. All parts are sold “as-is” otherwise.

5. How are parts priced compared to traditional auto stores?

Pricing is significantly lower due to the self-service model. Customers remove parts themselves, eliminating labor costs. Prices are typically below dealer or retail store rates, with savings passed directly to buyers.

6. What guarantees do they offer on parts?

The 90-Day Worry-Free Guarantee (optional) covers returns for defects, fitment issues, or incorrect purchases. For batteries, a separate warranty may apply. No other warranties are provided, as all parts are sold “as-is.”

7. What happens to the vehicles after they’re purchased?

Vehicles are disassembled, with usable parts sold to customers. Fluids (oil, coolant) are recovered for recycling, and metals are processed into raw materials for reuse. This closed-loop recycling minimizes environmental impact.

Pretty good visit this time. LKQ as a whole is not on my favorite list every since they've gotten rid of their rewards program (literally overnight) and increased their prices across the board at all locations. Lines were long here, but tsomewhat typical at this location. If you see something you want here don't wait too long because vehicles are rotated out sooner than typical.

They had a few lines open but took 10 minutes check out. Don't forget to get the stock number or they won't let you check out now. You can find it online though, but you have to look at the vehicle on that specific location's site.

No stars! Trying to charge me brand new pricing for used parts. Cashier kept changing the pricing throughout the transaction. Trying to charge me for a front bumper when I was just buying the front lip. Telling me I would pay more for new parts. When I looked it up the new parts were less than what she was trying to charge me. I spent hours removing those items in the heat just to be ripped off in the end. The manager also stated we were rude when I was questioning the cost. It's super fishy how we are not allowed to see the screen to actually see what we are paying before we pay. Walked out empty handed, no sale.

This place like all the other LkQ’s is way over priced! Decent selection of vehicles, the check out line wasn’t bad today. They need to teach the employees to smile and be a little nicer to the customers, they all seem to have The Who cares attitude! As always, BEWARE of the warranty RIPOFF! As soon as you get to the checker say “NO WARRANTY” if you don’t your gonna pay for it if you want it or not!

Been a customer for over 15 years it's not what it use to be. Prices are to high for you to take time to remove your own parts. Cannot price check before going in anymore. It's sad when it's cheaper to buy parts online then do all the work to retrieve your own. LKQ is not worth my time anymore especially when engines are cheaper just shipped to my house with warranty. YOU really dropped the ball.
