Been looking into it for a while as a little extra revenue for my company, but scrap yards don't make it easy to find them online or how it works. Solomon had a decent web site, with prices, and it was on my way to an appointment, so I thought I would give it a try. Had a small pick-up full of aluminum siding I took off a house. Drove right up to the loading doors, walked in and ask he first person I saw for some help. He was great. Pointed me to the scale, then directed me to the aluminum section, and even helped me unload. Sent me back out the scale, for weight-out and a slip, and then into the office for 2 minutes and some cash. Was pretty easy and straight forward and turned out to be great money too! I was so happy with the experience, I went back the next day with another load, and received the same courteous help. Will use again. One piece of feedback that would make it easier. Put on your website the process for bringing in scrap. Usually very quick in and out they no longer take non-ferrous metals so it is a 10in steel only situation which only speeds up the process. Generally nice prices and good service so if you have some young this is the place to go. Everything has changed the woman running the office was rude. As well they don't take everything they used to, copper and brass are just an example. They weighed us up for our aluminum on the car scale instead of on the proper scale. Screwed the disable and left us with $2 for 20 lbs of aluminum. When I first started scrapping, I did not know how to sort the different metals, my first load was a total mix. The lady that was working the scales back then pointed out how much more i would make by sorting it out. "was she every right" I have never had any of the issues that others have mentioned in their reviews. The employees have always been nice and helpful, Everyone just has to remember that you get what you give, Treat people with respect and that is what you will get. I was in there a few years ago, and someone had messed up and put the steel price in the computer at 99.5 cents per pound instead of 9.95. when I got my pay slip for 1200 pounds and saw what it was, I immediately let the person behind the counter know. The people behind me, and the ones waiting at the cash machine line got upset at me for pointing out the mistake. Honest mistake on their part and I am not out to take advantage of anyone. When i pulled up to the building, i just went ahead and backed into what looked like the driveway to unload the things you bring. Someone asked me what do i have and i told them what i was carrying. They told me to unload it and put it on their scale so I did. They evaluated what I had, and I feel their review of my items was fair. I went into the office and they did paperwork and handed me my cash. I feel that the amount was fair for the items that I had. Overall it was a fine experience. If I could choose one thing they could do better it would be to improve customer service just a bit while on site. I brought in a vehicle with PA title that was signed and notarized both out of previous owners name and into my name. They told me that I have to have the title reissued into my name as an ohio title prior to them accepting it. Mind you, the vehicle is dismantled and stripped down to a cab and frame. We have taken several vehicles to them with a PA title EXACTLY lile this one and have had no issue in the past. Don't waste your time with these dumb people.
