Absolute rip-off. Took my copper wires—all #2 grade, clean and ready to go—and the guy at the counter wrote down the smallest, thinnest gauge possible. For 29 pounds that should’ve been $3–$4, they gave me pennies. Straight-up thieves. Wouldn’t go back. ---
The place is always packed, and the lot’s so tight with trucks and parts you can barely move. But hey, at least it’s easy to find. ---
Let me tell you, this place is a total joke if you don’t know what you’re doing. I brought in a big catalytic converter—one I knew was worth at least $400—and they tried to lowball me with $40. Like, seriously? I’ve been dealing with these things for years, and metal prices are higher than ever. I straight-up asked the boss if he even checked the current rates, and he just shrugged like he had no clue. A scrapyard that doesn’t know what their own inventory is worth? Yeah, right. I’ve sold them smaller, cheaper converters before and walked out with over $100. Clearly, they’ll screw you if they think they can. Good thing I knew better—I took it to a real recycler and got $275. Don’t waste your time unless you’re tight with these guys. ---
I showed up at what I thought was the scrap yard on 44th, but as soon as I pulled in, a guy came over and said, “Wrong spot.” Turns out he was the owner. Instead of just pointing me in the right direction, he handed me $10 for gas and drove me to the actual location himself. His team was friendly, and he made sure I got taken care of right away. Never had an owner go out of their way like that—now I’m a Baroni customer for life.
Tommy and his crew don’t mess around—they’ll get you the best price for your scrap, no question. And it’s not just about the money; the guy actually cares about his people. That’s rare in this business. ---
