They’ve moved to a new spot in Bellwood, and honestly, it’s a huge upgrade. The staff there actually *wants* to help you—no attitude, no runaround. Prices can shift at any scrap place, so don’t expect miracles, but they’ll give you a fair shake. If you’re driving a truck, it’s smooth sailing in and out, and they’ll point you where to go without making you feel like an idiot. Some other places I’ve been to? Forget it—slow, rude, and you’ll leave with a headache. Not here. ---
Dropped off iron, brass, and copper (the #2 grade). My copper was just under a pound, so they told me to combine it with the brass to hit 3 lbs total. Didn’t think much of it until I got home and checked the receipt—turns out they only paid me for 2 lbs of brass at $1.75 a pound and *completely ignored* the copper. Not cool. Watch out for this one. ---
The line for big trucks was ridiculous—we sat there for *two hours* after weighing in just to unload. They need to get their act together and figure out a better system. Two hours is way too long to wait around doing nothing.
I’ve unloaded scrap at a bunch of places, and this one’s the only one where the guys actually *tell* you where to go instead of leaving you guessing. They’re polite, they don’t waste your time, and the whole process is simple—scale your load, they tell you where to dump it, and you’re out. No hassle. ---
