August Pohl Auto Parts at 2225 M-139, Benton Harbor, MI 49022

August Pohl Auto Parts is an auto salvage yard and used auto parts dealer at 2225 M-139 in Benton Harbor. The business runs as both a parts store and a u-pull-it salvage yard, where customers can take parts from junked cars themselves. Open for over 20 years, the yard specializes in affordable used parts for domestic and foreign vehicles. They also handle scrap metal and offer professional installation for parts removed on-site.

Unlike some salvage yards that focus only on parts, August Pohl carries both used and new auto parts. Customers can browse the yard during business hours or ask staff for help. Prices are usually lower than dealerships or new parts stores, making it a go-to spot for budget repairs.

Services & What to Expect

Customers can:

• Browse and remove parts from junked vehicles in the u-pull-it section. The yard has a large inventory of totaled or end-of-life cars, organized by make and model for easier searching.
• Buy used auto parts that have already been removed and cleaned. These parts are usually cheaper than new OEM or aftermarket options.
• Purchase new auto parts, including brakes, filters, belts, and other common components for minor repairs.
• Get professional installation for parts removed on-site or bought from the store. Staff can handle labor if customers don’t want to install parts themselves.
• Sell scrap metal like copper, aluminum, and steel. Pricing is based on current market rates for recycled metals.

The yard doesn’t advertise cash-for-cars, but customers with an old vehicle to sell should call ahead. Some salvage yards accept junk cars for parts or scrap. Always check availability and pricing by phone.

What to bring: Customers should have their own tools (if removing parts), gloves, and a way to transport parts. The yard doesn’t rent tools, so bring what you need. Payment is accepted in cash, credit, or debit.

Warranty policy: Used auto parts come with a 30-day warranty covering defects in materials or workmanship. This doesn’t apply to parts damaged during removal or installation. New parts may have manufacturer warranties, depending on the supplier.
