The yard's page says it grew from a small self-service recycler into one that processes 10,000 vehicles a year. It also says the yard has belonged to the Fenix company for several years, so the change is a new sign on a business that was already under the same owner.

Seven-day opening is unusual in New York. Of the 65 New York yards in our directory, seven list Sunday hours. If Sunday is your only free day, this is one of the few places in the Southern Tier where you can pull a part.

What are the yard rules?

You bring your own tools. If you carry parts in with you, show them at check-in so that staff can mark them. Cars sit on wheel stands, which is why jacks are banned.

ItemAllowed?
Your own toolsYes, and required
Reciprocating sawsYes
JacksNo
Cutting torches, grinders, cutting wheelsNo
Sandals or open-toed shoesNo
AlcoholNo
PetsNo
Anyone under 18No

The age limit is stricter than at many yards, where 16 is common. Do not plan a trip with a teenager. Our junkyard tool checklist covers what to pack, and how a U Pull It yard works explains the routine if this is your first visit.

How do you check the inventory and the price list?

The Binghamton page has a search by make and model, and the inventory page lists recent arrivals. The site also offers vehicle notifications, which message you when a model you want arrives.

The parts price list is shown per location, so pick Binghamton at the top of the page first. The page says that not every part is listed and asks you to call about the ones that are missing. We have not copied prices here because the list changes with the location you select.

A search tells you the car is in the yard. It does not tell you the part is still on it. Go soon after the car arrives, and have a second car in mind. Parts from other years and models often fit, and the yard offers an interchange lookup. Its FAQ says interior parts are not part of that lookup, so ask staff which body styles match.

What warranty do you get on a part?

Every part carries a free 7-day warranty. If the part does not work or does not fit, the yard exchanges it or refunds it. A 6-month extended warranty is sold for most parts, and the site notes that some exclusions apply.

Two conditions decide whether a return is accepted. You need the receipt, and the part must carry the yard's mark. Ask the cashier to mark the part before you leave the counter.

Some parts carry a core charge, which you get back when you return your old part. The yard gives you 30 days, with the receipt. Our explanation of core charges shows how that works.

Does the yard run sales?

Yes, and it announces them by text message. The site has a VIP Club sign-up that promises news of weekly sales and store announcements, at about nine messages a month. The site does not publish a calendar of sale dates, so the text list or a phone call is the way to find out.

Does Gary's buy junk cars?

Yes. You call the yard or use the pricing tool on its site for a quote, then schedule a pickup. The yard collects the car without charge, and the site says it typically pays more if you drive or tow the car in yourself. Payment is made in full on the spot.

The yard asks for the certificate of title or a transferable registration. New York's rules for older cars and lost titles are in our New York junk car legal summary. Get a second price before you agree to one: you can request a cash offer online in a few minutes.

Are there other Fenix U-Pull yards?

Four are listed on the site: Binghamton, Elmira and East Syracuse in New York, and Moultrie in Georgia. The East Syracuse yard at 7030 Myers Road appears in our directory under its older name, U-Pull U-Save Auto Parts, with a Google rating of 4.2 from 934 reviews.
